Dale Carnegie has many inspirational words of wisdom. If you haven’t read How To Win Friends and Influence People, be sure to add that to your reading list as soon as possible. In chapter two, ‘The Big Secret of Dealing with People,’ one of the biggest take away principles you should learn is to give honest and sincere appreciation to others.
He said that there is only one way to get anyone to do anything and that is by making the person want to do it. Hence most of our management in the workforce today has this goal to make employees want to do something. So, the goal to make people want to do is to give them the honest and sincere appreciation.
The two magic words are not magic. They are merely something we should have learned as a cute toddler. Something as simple as sincere and genuine “thank you” can go a long way to making people feel important. This simple act of gratitude and kindness can go a long way and can become marketing magic. Kindness opens doors and promotes referrals to your business. Each customer has a different level of satisfaction with the same product or services. Most of the customers or clients you offer kindness and genuine thank you too, are likely to be the most satisfied of your customers.
After services or product purchases, consider a “Thank You” direct email. Thank your clients for purchasing your product or service and continued support. Its guaranteed to receive positive responses. Its also nice to send a snail mail thank you card. Definitely a surprise to many people as this form of communication is becoming rare. Be sure to send the thank you separate from any other correspondences or invoices.
